On-Camera and Spokesperson Work

Bringing the message to life!

My Experience...

I have experience working behind the camera (or phone), prepping others to be on camera, and most recently, stepping in front of it. While I don’t actively seek the spotlight, I recognize the importance of clear, authentic communication and how it builds public trust. In my role as a spokesperson, I’ve taken on the responsibility of representing my organization in the Charlottesville community, regularly appearing in both live and recorded segments, which routinely air several times a day.

I have a weekly live segment on Charlottesville’s NBC station as part of their Community Conversation, where I share recent updates on our organization’s achievements, highlight upcoming events, make calls for donations, and foster community engagement. These three-minute segments, along with recorded interviews on ABC8, CBS19, and FOX27, have provided valuable insights into managing media questions, connecting with viewers, and delivering consistent, impactful messaging. Additionally, I’ve collaborated with newspaper reporters on feature stories, provided quotes, and participated in podcast and live radio interviews to extend our reach and visibility. This firsthand experience with live broadcasts has also equipped me to prepare others in our organization and field experts for on-camera appearances.

Outside of media work, I have presented to medical professionals on communications topics ranging from social media to marketing and PR, speaking at both the American Society of Addiction Medicine and American Psychiatric Association Annual Conferences and their advocacy conferences. I also frequently address all-staff gatherings and am comfortable presenting communication strategies to our Board of Directors.
